Disappointing data for diabetes drug in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

(European Association for the Study of the Liver) New data presented today at The International Liver Congress™ 2016 in Barcelona, Spain, demonstrates that the drug sitagliptin - more commonly used to treat diabetes - was no more effective than placebo for reducing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
